Workout 45

Today was my retry at adding the heel jacks. I decided to try binding my breasts to provide some kind of top coverage. I have an old pair of spanx leftover from when I was around 80 pounds heavier. I cut off the legs and crotch and pulled it over my head. I only pulled it 3/4 of the way down so it rested mostly over the tops of my breasts. It was so tight I was concerned about being able to pull the deep breaths I need to make it through the main aerobics part of the workout. I also added an extender to the bra to give me a bit more leeway for lateral motion. The bra is a 40 when I normally wear a 42. A 42 is too loose for working out, but the 40 is a bit too tight for side motion. I set the extender to the closest row of hooks so that the bra is now at about 41.

This worked really well. I now have bottom, middle and top coverage. It remains to be seen if the spanx retains its tightness after 3 workouts and a washing every week. The only other thing I have to watch out for doing the heel jacks is the knees during the transition. I see now that I bent the knee during the transition from circle jacks instead of keeping it straight. That combined with the lack to top coverage and my breast jerking around was the source of Thursday’s disaster. As long as I’m mindful of my breathing, footing and the spanx holds out, I should be able to keep doing the heel jacks. Workout 44

The floor mat did its job. Unfortunately the lack of top coverage really did me in. I totally flubbed the heel jacks. I’m going to move up the level up date to see if I can do better Saturday. Either I’m going to have to find a bra that gives me top coverage or figure out how to bind my breasts.

I also had difficulty with the side motion of the heel jacks. The tight underwire constricted me. (20 minutes, high impact, 175 calories burned (https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc)

Workout 43

Missed yesterday because I overslept. Surprisingly, my muscles were even MORE sore from the squats and lunges with the extra rest day. Made it through the second set of circle jacks. Barely. Thursday is a “level up” day so we’ll see if I can do the heel jacks.

Bra is still inadequate but the best I can do for now. Really need some top coverage. Maybe I’ll try pulling up the unitard’s shelf bra, but that might kill my bottom coverage. I doubt it will stay in position anyway.

My floor mat is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so hopefully that will resolve the foot sliding issue. (20 minutes, high impact, 175 calories burned (https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc)

Workout 42

Focused on keeping my breathing even during the high impact parts. Even so, that 2nd set of circle jacks whooped my ass. I don’t know if I’ll be ready to start heel hacks Wednesday.

I’m also disappointed with the lack of movement on the scale. I’m afraid of taking the metabolism booster supplements because of my high blood pressure. I’ll have to do a little homework on that. I also need to find a non-acidic snack for the work week.

The lack of top coverage with this bra is a problem. I’ll try tucking the top under to see if that works better. As for the footing issue, my mat isn’t due to be delivered until Wednesday so I’ll have two workouts with bad footing. Workout 40

The stick-on pads definitely alleviate the problem with my feet sliding, but they only last one workout. I’ve bought a workout mat. Hopefully it will be delivered before Saturday.

I found an old bra that might do until I find something better to workout in. It looks like it was never worn. It provides decent middle coverage, but no top coverage. It’s also a little small so the underwire really digs in.

Also my back was really hurting Sunday night. It was so bad I had to stop sorting laundry and rest for 20 minutes. Sucks that I can’t take ibuprofen anymore because of my stomach. (20 minutes, high impact, 175 calories burned (https://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc)
